We both love traveling. While still at school and university, we didn't have much money to travel with and we mostly visited places in South Africa and very occasionally our immediate neighbouring countries on family holidays. In my (Pieter) second year at university, I had the opportunity to visit Kenya and Tanzania to climb Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Kenya. This was my first real trip outside the country and it sparked an itchiness in me that has not stopped since. Now, almost twenty years later, I've traveled all over the world for hiking, mountaineering, birding, even for work, or just to visit a new place I haven't been to before.
